RADFORD PHOTOGRAPHS

Most of these pictures were taken as I travelled home from college at weekends to find the streets of my father's youth being destroyed beyond all recognition. I felt a sense of capturing it all before it was too late, even getting up at 4 in the morning to obtain a certain lighting effect in a shot. Most of the places now bear no resemblance to what was seen through my camera lens twenty years ago, as the teenage Richards snapped away relentlessly at the ancient brickwork and images of flattened streets all around him.

Taken with Pentax K1000, Pentax Super A, Fujica STX 1 and Minolta Dynax cameras
using Ilford HP5 and FP4 film, although all my work is now shot in colour and
converted to black and white.
