Demolition of John Player No3 factory, 1986 I found this colour negative, which had been unprinted for 15 years, and it shows an ancient trolley from the cigarette factory, with some great lettering on it

Rear of Alton's Cigar Factory, Ilkeston Road , 2001. There is a car park space for EGA 700 - I wonder which manager owned this car in the 1950's?

This building is soon to be demolished, and new housing built in its place.

The Ainsley Estate - I lived here from 1965-1994.

This 1940s council estate is still classified as Old Radford. Families which I remember here in the 60s and 70s include Starr, Ferris, Wilmot, Curtis, Matthews, Skerrit, Upton, Brown, Singh-Matto, Munn, Crofts, Swinscoe, Kirwan, Selvey, Meakle, Greenacre, Gibbons, and many others.

If you are a former resident, I would like to hear your Ainsley Tales,
shortly to follow at the Radford Gallery
