Old Barclays Bank on Beastmarket Hill, which is now 'The Goose on the Square' and is very popular at 5.30pm!!

Beautiful green tile work on the facade of the Lion Hotel, Clumber Street

The Tavern In the Town on Parliament Street is no more, now it is 'Edwards'.. Pearsons next door has been knocked down and a Social Security Office and Car Park built in its place.

The Bodega on Pelham Street is now called 'The Social' and is opposite a pub called the 'Pit & Pendulum', which has a Gothic feel and is owned by the Eerie Pub Company!

The old Labour Exchange on Castle Boulevard, which stands next door to the new Evening Post building at Castle Wharf

The Newmarket Hotel opposite the Palais on Parlaiment Street, one pub which still retains its traditional appeal. Signs outside proudly advertise this place as a 'Gin Palace'

Looking down Castle Boulevard to the new Evening Post building on Canal Street. The Narrowboat pub, Derrys printers and Stevex ladies hosiery all disappeared in this redevelopment of the late 1990s..

The magnificant Thurland pub on Pelham Street, the building beyond is the recently vacated Nat West bank.
West End Arcade opposite the Co-op on Parlaiment Street, which has recently closed. This arcade still has its old plastic white and orange 1970s signs inside!
