'The Green' as it is known,
lies in between Radford and Basford, and is still a thriving shopping
area, having been spared the demolition of streets such as Denman
Street. I was a regular in the Smiths Arms in 1985, drinking with
my friends Elise and John Dobson, and their parents Walter and Renee.
Other customers included Roy Wakefield, Scottish Agnes and her fella
Roy, and most of Maples Street! Sadly, Edie, the lovely lady in
the picture at the top, passed away not long after posing for me.
